Dacota is a beautiful three-year-old female who was originally rehomed through us in October 2025. Sadly, she has recently returned to our care due to her owner’s declining health, and she is now looking for a permanent family to call her own.
Personality & Home Life Dacota truly thrives on human companionship and actively seeks out affection. She is a social girl who is comfortable with strangers both inside and outside the home.
In the house, Dacota enjoys sitting by the window to watch the world go by, which helps her stay calm and relaxed. While she has exhibited some separation anxiety in the past, her previous owners worked hard on this with very encouraging results. To help her continue this progress, an ideal home would be one where someone is present for most of the day.
Compatibility
- Children: Dacota is a wonderful family dog with experience living with children ranging from three to seventeen years old.
- Other Dogs: She has been walked both on and off the lead alongside other dogs and loves to play! She is not reactive. However, because there were previously incidents of fighting when food was present, we believe she would be best suited as the only dog in the home to ensure she feels secure.
- Cats: She is not used to cats.
