Give a Dobermann a forever home
Adoption
Adopting a rescue Dobermann is one of the most rewarding decisions you will ever make — and a commitment we take seriously for every dog in our care.
Our adoption criteria
Every dog we rehome has already experienced loss. We owe it to them to ensure their next home is truly their last.
Below are the key criteria we use to match our dogs with the right families. These aren’t rigid rules — they reflect what is best for the dogs, and for you.
A stable, loving home
We look for adopters who can provide a consistent, loving, and safe environment. What matters most is your ability to meet a Dobermann’s needs for companionship, structure, and comfort.
Age & household
- Applicants must be 21 or older (exceptions considered case-by-case).
- All members of the household must agree about adopting.
- Some dogs may not be placed with young children, due to size and energy.
Breed experience
Dobermanns are intelligent, loyal, and energetic. Experience with Dobermanns or similar large/working breeds is a big plus — and we’ll guide first-time adopters who are ready to learn.
Time & commitment
These dogs crave connection. We do not rehome dogs to homes where they will be left alone for extended hours every day. Flexible schedules or reliable companionship arrangements matter.
Secure outdoor space
We only rehome to homes with secure, private gardens. The garden must be fully enclosed with dog-proof fencing — height and security are reviewed during your home check.
Other pets
Some of our Dobermanns adore other dogs; others need to be the only pet. We assess each match carefully based on your current pets and the dog’s temperament.
Lifelong vet care
Adopters must be prepared for the costs of lifelong care, including insurance, regular check-ups, and any ongoing medical needs.
Willingness to be matched
We do not operate first-come, first-served. We match each Dobermann to the home that best suits their personality, history, and needs — for fewer heartbreaks and better outcomes.
A heart open to healing
Many dogs have endured neglect, abandonment, or trauma. They may need time, patience, and gentle encouragement to trust again. We’re looking for compassion and resilience.
