Chief arrived on Feb 27 and he wasn’t what we expected—skinny, rough coat, missing a toe on one foot, obviously neglected. He’s an intact 2.5-year-old male, and now that he’s with us, we’re getting him back on track. He’s headed to the vet for a full checkup, and we’ll make sure he gets the food and care he needs to recover.

Chief’s a friendly dog—likes people, always wagging his tail, gets along with cats and other dogs. He’s lived with a 6-month-old baby before, but we don’t know how he’d do with toddlers or older kids, so we’re saying 11+ and dog-savvy for now.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll keep an eye on him, figure out more about who he is, and post updates. Once he’s gained some weight and checked healthy, he’ll be up for adoption.
