Luga is a handsome, resilient chap who has bounced back from some tough medical hurdles with a wagging tail. While his wonderful foster family adore him, they are sadly unable to adopt him permanently. Now, Luga is searching for a dedicated forever home where he can live a happy, carefree life.
Luga’s foster family cannot praise his indoor manners enough. He is incredibly easy-going, affectionate, and low-maintenance around the house.
- Impeccable Manners: He doesn’t beg for food, never jumps up on worktops or tables, and has absolutely zero food guard issues.
- A Cooperative Companion: He is happy to be handled all over, cooperates beautifully when putting on his winter coat, and travels like a dream in the car.
- Home Alone Success: He can easily be left alone for a couple of hours (he just curls up and sleeps) and could likely manage longer periods once settled.
- Good Citizen: While he will give a polite bark to let you know someone is at the doorbell, he greets all human visitors with charm. He sleeps soundly through the night in the bedroom (though he is an early riser!).
“Luga is clever, willing to learn, and already knows basic commands. His favorite thing is settling down with his favorite toy, which instantly puts him in his happy place.
Outdoors, Luga is a mix of a polite walker and an enthusiastic explorer!
- On the Leash: He generally walks very well, though he can give a little pull when he gets excited. He completely ignores other dogs out on walks and goes about his own business.
- The Garden Enthusiast: Because Luga likely spent long periods indoors in his past life, a big open garden can still overstimulate him. He loves to chase anything that moves—birds, squirrels, and even bees! But he settles down quickly the moment you give him a toy to play with.
Medical History
Adopting a dog with medical history can feel daunting, but DRUE is here to back you up 100%. Luga has some manageable conditions, but Drue will cover all veterinary costs related to his bladder condition, DCM, and Demodex for the rest of his life.
- Bladder Health: After successful surgeries for bladder stones, Luga is on a freshly prepared diet to keep him crystal-free. Full guidance and recipes will be provided by his foster carer.
- Heart Health: He has been diagnosed with mild DCM.
- Skin & Coat: His Demodex (mites) has completely cleared up. However, he has a few patches where his hair hasn’t fully grown back, so he just needs a bit of doggy sunblock or a light shirt on very hot, sunny days.
Luga’s Perfect Match
Luga is looking for a kind, stable home where he can truly blossom. His checklist is simple:
- A home without cats or small furry animals (due to his prey drive).
- A secure garden where he can enjoy his toys.
- Can live as an only dog or potentially share his home with a compatible female dog (subject to successful introductions).
If you have the space in your heart and home for this incredibly sweet, resilient boy, Drue will be with you every step of the way.
