Meet our team

Dianne Worby – Chair & Trustee

Dianne joined DRUE in late 2020, bringing over 40 years of experience in aviation safety and human factors. Her academic and professional background lies entirely in aviation — with specialist expertise in hijack management, counter-terrorism, crew survival, and the human causes of aviation accidents. She holds professional qualifications from leading institutions, including Cranfield University, Royal Military College of Science, and Oxford Air Training College. Dianne has also lectured on aviation human factors at Leeds University. Dianne spent nearly a decade working in safety training for a major UK airline, serving as Safety Training Manager, before founding Global Air Training (GAT) in 1997. As founder, she has built GAT into a globally recognised provider of human factors training, serving over 1,300 clients including NASA, the European Space Agency, international Air Forces, and critical sectors such as healthcare, energy, and transportation. Alongside her aviation career, Dianne has owned and cared for four Dobermanns over the past 20 years, bringing a lifelong passion for the breed to her role at DRUE. Her mix of regulatory expertise, and breed experience makes her a valuable asset to the organisation.

Federica Sambiase – Treasurer & Trustee

Federica joined DRUE in March 2025, bringing over 20 years of experience in global banking and finance, most recently as CEO of Working Capital Associates, a company focused on impact finance. Her career has taken her through senior roles at global financial institutions as Citigroup, ING, and Mellon, built on a strong foundation as a corporate and capital markets lawyer with Baker McKenzie and Allen & Overy. Federica earned her LLB in Law from the University of Rome “La Sapienza,” followed by postgraduate studies in International Law and International Trade Law. She also completed the  invitation-only Women’s Leadership Development Program at UCLA Anderson School of Management. Her dedication has been recognized with Citigroup’s “Citizen of the Year” and “Diversity Star of the Year” awards. Federica balances a career in finance with her passion for dog sports. She trains and competes in obedience and agility with her Belgian Malinois, gaining hands-on experience with high-drive, intelligent breeds. This work has given her valuable insight into the needs of dogs like the Dobermann. She has seen how structure, consistency, and engagement can build confidence—an approach she brings to her work with DRUE.

Pauline Rose – Trustee

Pauline joined DRUE in January 2023, though her connection with Dobermanns began at age 19, having bred and shown the breed for many years. Health issues led her to step back from ownership in 2015, but her love for Dobermanns never faded. She welcomed the opportunity to support DRUE in an administrative role. After college, Pauline completed a qualification in Business Studies and spent much of her career in office administration before launching her own cleaning and home fragrance business. This venture not only gave her independence but also sparked a deeper interest in canine health. She now lives with her lively English Springer Spaniel, Guinness, who keeps her on her toes. While caring for her husband, Pauline is also developing a new business focused on natural dog health products. She brings valuable Dobermann knowledge and experience to DRUE and is always happy to support both the team and potential adopters with practical advice and heartfelt dedication.

Gary Botell – Trustee

Gary joined DRUE in January 2024, bringing over 40 years of experience in professional sport, law enforcement, and canine handling. He holds a degree in criminal law and served for 30 years in specialist police operations. He now works as a Forensic Firearms Expert, specialising in the examination and legal classification of recovered weapons. Gary’s life long involvement with dogs spans Dobermanns, Boxers, and German Shepherds, combining personal ownership with professional handling. His practical insight and dedication to animal welfare make him a valuable member of DRUE’s Board of Trustees.

Jay Kershaw – Trustee

Jay joined DRUE in late 2020 bringing a background as a Senior Executive having held senior roles at Unipart Group of Companies, Vodafone, and Leasedrive, and her own communications consultancy. In 1996 she co-founded Aritaur Dobermanns in Staffordshire. Jay is a Kennel Club Assured Breeder known for producing Dobermanns of exceptional health, temperament, structure, and character. With an ethical approach to breeding, Jay shows her dogs, trains them in IGP/Schutzhund, and maintains lifelong contact with Aritaur puppy owners. She judges internationally, including at the Galaxy Serbian Winner Dobermann Club Show (2018), the French Dobermann Club Show (2017), the German Pinscher Nationals in California (2016). Jay awards Challenge Certificates (CCs) in Dobermanns and judges all breeds in the UK Working Group. She is also a certified trainer with the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers (BIPDT), a globally recognised mark of excellence. With over three decades of experience, Jay brings deep breed expertise, international credibility, and an unwavering commitment to Dobermann welfare.
