Our open day on 26 August was a fantastic success, and the sun smiled on us for the majority of the day! Thank you to everyone who supported and joined us, many along with their beautiful dogs, creating an brilliant atmosphere.
One of the highlights was meeting many of our past DRUE rescues who are now thriving in their forever homes. Seeing their happy wagging tails was a testament to the impact our collective efforts have on the lives of these dogs. We also welcomed new adopters who are now part of the ever-growing DRUE family.
Behind the scenes, our dedicated team of volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure the event’s success. From manning the stalls with enthusiasm to cooking up fabulous food, organizing the dog show, and ensuring a clean wrap-up, our volunteers truly went above and beyond.
The generosity displayed by the attendees exceeded our expectations. The funds raised during the event will enable us to continue our mission of rescuing and re-homing more Dobermanns in need.
Thanks to Ian Tyson, Tracy Tyson and her daughter, Dawn Wigglesworth and all her family, Brad, Noemi, Michelle, Jo, Debbie and Steve, who donated a lot of items to us and helped through the day with our stalls. Antonia who stepped in to help with the indoor Drue stall, Dave Ronan for his cani-cross knowledge, Michelle for judging the dog show, Pauline Thomas and Dawn Cooke for all their help with the dog show, Jay Kershaw for donating book sales and helping people with some training tips.
Thank you to Pauline Thomas and Sharon, who sadly had to surrender her dog to us, both gave generous donations to DRUE. We would also like to thank Morag and Julie from Lincs Dobermann rescue for coming along to support!
Thanks also to our new fundraising team Jill Woodward, Trixie and Jo Walker who did our first number board which was a great success!
This was our new team’s first open day, the next one is already in planning and will be even bigger and better! More photos of the show are here: https://adobe.ly/45GaoSE
