Bosco is adopted. This beautiful entire boy is 21 months old.
Bosco is a gentle soul who craves human affection and interaction. In true Dobie fashion, he likes to be physically attached to you at all times.
He loves playing with his toys, especially if they squeak, and will walk nicely on a head collar.
He will play and run with bitches off lead with no issues, he has walked nicely on a lead alongside another male with no reaction.
While out walking other dogs have barked at him and he has had the odd woof back but nothing that would give us cause for concern relating to reactivity on the lead.
Bosco is a lovely looking lad and will make someone a great companion.
He has shown interest in the cats that he’s met – he’s not terrible and will walk away if asked but we don’t think he could live with one.
He could potentially live with a neutered female dog and we’d suggest that any children in his new home be dog savvy and aged 12 and upwards.

Bosco’s Assessment
Kennel behaviour
Bosco left his kennel calmly and passed the other kennel dogs with no reaction. He was excited to leave the kennel block but had his lead put on in a calm manner. Bosco was reluctant to return to his kennel after assessment, did go in for a treat though.
Handling
Bosco appears to enjoy affection and handling although he was unsure on a couple of areas. When handling near his back end he did attempt to nibble Danielle’s hand but no further reaction. He flinched slightly when I felt his back from above but afterwards was willing to be handled in that area. Once Bosco builds a bond with somebody I believe the flinching and discomfort would get less.
Bosco is walked on a Too posh to pull head collar which works really well and he walks nicely on. He is happy to have this put on and taken off also. Bosco appears to have a good recall, further testing would be needed before letting him off in public.
Sociability
Bosco was relaxed upon meeting me and a male farm worker in the yard. He was happy to train and be rewarded by me very quickly. No reaction shown to either the kennel dogs or the dogs outside on the yard. He walks past calmly and shows no aggression or anxiety.
Arousal/Reactivity
Please give details of reactivity on a scale of 1 to 5 (where 1 = low & 5 = high)
Reactivity – 1
Bosco is motivated by both treats and toys. He did jump up once for a treat but generally sits or offers a paw in front of the person with the treats.
Enjoyed playing with the toys in the paddock and doesn’t show any guarding issues around these. He will also play independently with a toy. He did chew a toy up slightly so caution over which toys he has free access to is needed. Bosco shows no reaction to traffic or cyclists passing by the paddock.
Possession
Whilst Bosco is motivated by both toys and treats he does not snatch these or attempt to retain possession. He will exchange toys for treats and vice versa. Bosco will take a toy from your hand very gently and will then drop it for a treat reward.
Comments
We cat tested Bosco with the farm cats. He acknowledged that the cat was there and was inquisitive but no adverse reaction noted and was easily distracted from the cats with verbal praise and a treat reward. Bosco is a calm and composed dog for his age and enjoys training and play. He walks well and isn’t overly aroused by his surroundings. He has clearly had training in the past and would be a joy to train further with.
