Cee Cee is adopted.
Cee Cee is an energetic 2-year-old female looking for an active home.
- Age: 2 years old
- Spayed: No, she is an entire bitch
About Cee Cee: Cee Cee is a vibrant and joyful dog who thrives on activity and play. She’s always in high spirits, eager for the next adventure or game.
Previous Living Situation:
- She has previously lived with another dog but was too energetic for her older housemate.
- She has experience living with children aged 6 and above.
Behavioral Traits:
- Lead Walking: Cee Cee walks reasonably well on a leash but could benefit from further training to refine her skills.
- Cats: She has a strong prey drive; she will chase cats, so a cat-free home is essential.
- Recall: Her recall ability is unknown. We recommend using a long line until you’re confident she’ll come back when called.
- Dog Compatibility: She could potentially live with another dog, provided it matches her high energy levels and loves to play as much as she does.
Ideal Home: Cee Cee would thrive in a home where she can receive plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and where her new owners are prepared to continue her training, particularly with leash manners and recall. An active family or individual without cats would be ideal for her to continue living her life to the fullest.
Cee Cee’s Assessment
Cee was assessed by a qualified behaviourist on 11 December:
- Kennel behaviour: Cee Cee had her lead put on and left her kennel calmly, walking past other kennel dogs with no reaction Some of the dogs were barking and Cee Cee was neither fearful or reactive to this. She also went back into her kennel with ease and waited for a treat before the gate was shut.
- Handling: Cee Cee was happy to be handled all over by myself and actively seeks out affection from humans. No areas that caused concern to her. Cee Cee was walked to the paddock on a slip lead. She pulls slightly but not excessively and given her love for treats this could easily be trained to be even better. Cee Cee appears to have a good recall within the secure paddock. This would need to be tested in a more open space before being relied upon.
- Sociability: Cee Cee passed dogs calmly who were behind a fence, she showed some interest but no negative reaction whatsoever. Upon meeting me (a stranger) she was calm and approached confidently, taking treats and playing with me with no concerns shown. Cee Cee wasn’t assessed with men but did pass one when returning to the kennel and didn’t appear to be fazed by him at all.
- Arousal & Reactivity: Reactivity on a scale of 1-5: 1. Cee Cee wasn’t assessed with children, cyclists or in the car. She was keen but polite to play with a tug toy but didn’t appear overly excited by the ball or retrieving the tug. She was keen to work for both high and low value treats. Did jump up for treats but will sit when asked. Cee Cee was interested in the dogs she passed but not overly pushy and walked on calmly when unable to greet them.
- Possession: Cee Cee is motivated by treats and toys. Shows no issues around guarding or retaining these and will exchange willingly. Was excited and jumped up a couple of times for treats but this was not excessive and she did sit when asked as an alternative behaviour.
- Assessors general comments: Cee Cee is a fun loving, playful girl who appears to enjoy training and engagement with people. She has good basic skills such as sit, lie down, give paw and she has a lot of potential to train further with positive reinforcement training.
