About Nala

Nala is a friendly, sociable young girl who has come into rescue through no fault of her own, after a change in her owner’s circumstances. She grew up in a family home with children from 1 to 15, is described as very good around them, and enjoys being part of family life.

She is good at meeting new people, both in the home and out and about. On walks she generally does not show much interest in strangers. She has spent time with family members’ dogs and has been very good around them.

She has never lived with or been around cats, so we cannot say how she would react to them. She will chase birds in the garden and squirrels, and that needs to be taken into account.

Nala absolutely loves her walks and enjoys getting out throughout the day. She does pull on the lead, so her new family will need to carry on with her lead training. At 14 months she is still young and will benefit from ongoing training, guidance and consistency. She can bark when she gets overly excited, but she normally settles again within about 5–10 minutes.

When the family goes out, she is used to going into her crate. She can sleep in her crate at night too — though she has worked out that if she tries hard enough, she can usually persuade the children to let her out so she can sleep on their beds instead. Nala usually wins.

She has had a good start in family life and is looking for a loving, committed home that understands she is still young, and is ready to keep up her training while giving her the exercise, boundaries and companionship she needs.
